TIME Magazine is a publication we all know that features the annual Man of the Year. Ever since 1927, TIME has been consistent in successfully telling the important story of the year – and the person that made it history, regardless if it is “for better, or for worse”.
This 2009, the search for TIME Magazine’s “Man of the Year” begins. Actually, there were several names that have been featured twice for different years. However, it was Franklin Delano Roosevelt who was awarded three timesĀ (1932, 1934, and 1941) by this award by the said publication.
Of course in 2008, it was no other than the US’ “Man of Progress and Change” – President Barrack Obama. Let’s see if he can make it again on the cover this year.
Pope John Paul II was named this title in 1994; while Adolf Hitler was Man of the Year in 1938. For ordinary folks like us who can’t necessarily change the world big time, we however have the power to shape history through our own personal “extraordinary” efforts whether it’s for our families, occupations, organizations, etc. You might even have your own personal hero whom you can say your “Man of the Year” awardee for simply being the best in their own terms.
If you have a mom or dad you think deserves the “best mom or dad award”, or your life-saving doctor whom you’d like to give the “best doctor award”, or that sweet and patient teacher of yours who simply has to be named your “best teacher award”… there is no better time than now to give it to them! Who knows, you could be their Man of the Year, too!
So, would you like to be Man of the Year?
(or anyone whom you think deserves this one, for that matter)…
